Public Consultation On The Licensing Of Suppliers and Installer of Safes
The Private Security Authority, The Security Regulator, has published on its website a public consultation on a proposed standard for the licensing of contractors in the Supplier or Installer of Safes Sector. This process offers all security contractors, industry stakeholders, interested parties and the public an opportunity to comment on the draft standard through this public consultation.

Unlicensed Security Guard Prosecuted
On the 13th March, 2023, Mr. Daniel Smith, Bluebell, Dublin 12 was found guilty at Dublin District Court of one breach of the Private Security Services Act. Mr. Smith had been providing security guard (static) services without holding the required PSA licence. The prosecution followed an investigation by the PSA into the provision of unlicensed security guarding services in counties Dublin, Meath and Wicklow.
Judge Anthony Halpin fined the defendant €500 with costs of €4,562.15 also awarded against Mr. Smith.
